Since this is hopelessfangirl's and my first time running an icontest, we wanted to get some feedback from you guys to see how we're doing. So if you could please take a few minutes to answer the questions below, we'd really appreciate it.

Do you think the voting system is fair?
NO! RECOUNT!!! :p I think the voting works nicely.

Do you like screen cap challenges?
Yup, gives me an oppurtunity to mess around with different cropping options.

Do you like base challenges?
Probably not as much as caps, but it's neat to see how each person can take the base and can come up with something completely original.

Do you like lyrical/quote challenges?
I'm a big sap. So cute lyrics and quotes are always fun for me :)

Would you like to see a manipulation challenge?
I think it'd be interesting. I'm kinda crap at manips, but it would be something different!

Do you have any other suggestions for challenges?
Umm...you guys know the Lose eps much better than I do. I leave it up to your good judgement!

Do you think having a Mod’s Choice award is a good idea?
Definitely. I know it feels really nice to get those, particularly when you're still a beginner. I think it's a nice way to make more people feel good about their iconing capabilities (and therefore come back to enter the contest again) and also let you guys award an icon that you enjoy.

Do you like the submission/voting schedule?
Yup. I have enough time to make my entry and voting doesn't drag on forever.

Do you like receiving banners?
Like I said, THEY MAKE ME PEE!!!1

Do you feel like this icontest is run positively?
Of course, it's run by the bestest mod team ever ;)

Great! I think it's wonderful how you guys spend so much time doing this for us. I certainly don't have the time and I admire you for it.

Do you think the voting system is fair?
Yep.

Yeah, gives me more to work with.

I like 'em fine, but I can do more with caps.

Sure!

Would you like to see a manipulation challenge?
Personally... no. I'm horrid at them.

Uh.... can't think of anything.

Do you think having a Mod’s Choice award is a good idea?
Yes, because it gives an icon maker who may have worked really hard but didn't make the greatest icon to get recognized. I submit regularly to a few icontests and winning Mod's Choice means a lot to me because it says that at least one person (or more if there is more than one mod) appreciates the work I've done. I think it's sweet.

Do you like the submission/voting schedule?
I guess so. I don't really pay attention to it... I'm horrible at remembering stuff for me it's usually checking my f-list and going "oh hey, that icon is due today" and then going to make one.

Do you like receiving banners?
YES.

Do you feel like this icontest is run positively?
Ya'll are wonderful.

How well do you think the moderators are running this icontest?
It's wonderful. I mean, you guys can keep it running. That's better than most communities do. And, look at this! You actually care what we think. You're wonderful.

Do you think the voting system is fair? Yeah. Can't really say much more than yeah.

Do you like screen cap challenges? Sure. Why not? That way, I don't really have to go and look for my own screen caps, wasting bandwidth.

Do you like base challenges? Not so much. You can't do too much with a base.

Do you like lyrical/quote challenges? Love them. I don't mind looking for caps when it's a lyric/quote challenge. It's fun.

Would you like to see a manipulation challenge? No. I, personally, can't manip that well, and it probably wouldn't go over too well with everybody. If you test it, I will still do the challenge, though.

Do you have any other suggestions for challenges? Well, seeing as I live in Australia and Lost hasn't even aired here yet (it starts Thursday!), I'm not so sure about the whole thing. I'm in love with Charlie/Claire and I haven't even really seen them. Maybe themed challenges. Like a happy moment, a sad moment, etc.

Do you think having a Mod’s Choice award is a good idea? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It's sort of saying I like this one best (and you're only one person), but with the voting, it's collective and they can't say it's one person's favourite, if you know what I mean.

Do you like the submission/voting schedule? The Monday-Friday, Saturday-Sunday? Most communities do it, so we're use to it.

Do you like receiving banners? Hell yes. I should get some more. I should make fake ones and just say I won challenges. That's how much I love getting banners.

Do you feel like this icontest is run positively? Hell yes.

Any other comments you’d like to add? Only that C/C rocks.

Excellent! Well, except the time I almost went into withdrawals when there was that holiday break....I still twitch every once in a while ;) *hehe* jk, you guys are doing awesome

Absolutely! You keep it members only so that people don't get their friends to join, and you don't have a poll up that anyone can see.

Yes :)

No---too many limitations

Yes :)

Eh, not so much lol

Hmmmm, not at the moment

Yes. You guys get to participate in one way or another. In fact, I say both of you pick one---have two mods choice

Yes! You're right on time each week, and the voting and posting of winners gets posted in the weekend (when most people can get online) and not during the week :D

*hehe* Yes, makes me feel special :D

Do you feel like this icontest is run positively?
Yes! Each week whoever posts the entries is always so enthusiastic about the entries! That always makes us feel good :D Some people are like "uh, not as many as last time, but vote anyway" You two are thrilled with however many entries you get, and I think that's awesome :D

I've only just stumbled on this icon contest community during the last round, so I'll just answer these qs. as best as I can. ♥

How well do you think the moderators are running this icontest?
From what I can tell, you guys do a great job -- the contest rules/specifications each week are very clear for the icon-maker, which makes it so much easier.

Do you think the voting system is fair?
I believe so, yes.

Do you like screen cap challenges?
Have to admit, these are my favourite. (It could just be that I'm lazy when it comes to searching for images, though). But screencap challenges are very convenient, and helps to narrow down possibilities.

Do you like base challenges?
Base challenges are good, but only when the base is of good quality. In a couple of icon contests that I participate in, I find the base quality to be rather poor, and it makes it difficult when adjusting colours, brightness/contrast etc.

Do you like lyrical/quote challenges?
Not as much as the above two, but these challenges can be fun.

Would you like to see a manipulation challenge?
For an icon? Sure.
For fanart? I'm not so fussed. I tend to be better at making icons than graphics, so I'm partial to those. But it could be interesting to see what everyone else comes up with.

Do you have any other suggestions for challenges?
I suppose you could combine some of the above -- having a screencap and a set lyrical selection can be fun. Or having a "textless" icon challenge. Or even letting the iconist choose their screencap, but have to use one/more stock photo of the mods selection as a theme.

Do you think having a Mod’s Choice award is a good idea?
It is, because it can be very encouraging.

*nods* Seems to be pretty good, from what I've seen.

Yeah, I think it's a fun idea.

Yeah, with screened comments and all, it's better than a poll.

Yes, I am a lazy ass who will not do a challenge if there are no screen caps supplied =) Plus I think it's a bit fairer and easier to vote for.

As long as there is a reasonable amount of bases to choose from.

Yes, depends.

Those are hard, but yes I would.

I was always fond of the idea but it does make people feel singled out and may seem unfair in ways.

Not really, considering I'm not very good at it. But I can try if you decide to do it.

Very much! I'm a lyric freak, so many of my icons are lyrics based.

Sure, I could always use more practice.

Sure. Though I think that it's even more fair when order does matter, though.

Do you like screen cap challenges?
Most of the time, yes. Sometimes, though, I have a hard time thinking about text, and I only make an icon when I know what I'm gonna write on it, so, if the cap doesn't really inspire me, I end up not entering. But it's good to play with the cropping.

Do you like base challenges?
Sure. But it has the same text problem as the screencap challenges.

Do you like lyrical/quote challenges?
Love them. I think those are my favorites.

Would you like to see a manipulation challenge?
I'm not so big in manips, but it could be interesting.

Themes are always nice. I just joined, but I looked back a few challenges and thought the diary-themed one might have been a lot of fun.
